Internet law, also sometimes referred to as "Cyberspace law" affects and changes more areas of law as we move into a more electronic society.

So what IS "Internet law?" While most things that occur on or via the Internet can be considered "Internet law," the most common definition includes issues concerning websites, online copyrights, employee uses, Internet employment agreements, domain names, online trademarks, protection for Internet software, etc.

When looking for an attorney to handle Internet law/Cyberspace law issues, it is important to seek out someone who has significant amounts of experience with Internet software and hardware issues, websites, programming, copyrights, domain names, and other issues. This means more than merely finding an attorney who can use the technology. Look instead for one who knows how it works.

Mikki Barry can also help you with domain name issues, including under ICANN's Uniform Dispute Resolution Policy, claims under the Anti Cybersquatting Consumer Protection Act, or domain name hijacking or reverse domain name hijacking cases. As President of the Domain Name Rights Coalition, Mikki has unique experience in this field.

Mikki Barry's experience with the Internet began in the days of the Arpanet, prior to its transformation and merger with other systems into today's Internet. She has been involved with many of the major policy decisions that laid the foundation for the robust network we have today, and spoke out in attempts to change some of the policies that are not condusive to small business and individual users of the Internet.

In depth knowledge of not only the "hows" but also the "whys" of Internet law and policies is what sets an attorney apart in the Internet and Cyberspace law fields. Never be afraid to ask about an attorney's experience with not only using the Internet, but what they know of the policies and real world issues.

Mikki Barry's resume is located on this website in order to give information to the client searching for qualified legal representation. As always, feel free to contact the firm in whichever manner is most comfortable for you, if you have any questions.
