The Domain Name Rights Coalition is a not for profit organization of like minded individuals who are attempting to educate the public on civil and individual rights in the electronic world.

Advocacy included providing testimony to Senate and House Committees, participation as Steering Committee member of the IFWP (International Forum for the White Paper), the precursor to the formation of ICANN, the Internet Corporation For Assigned Names and Numbers. Featured on television broadcasts on MSNBC, CNBC, and ZNet as well as several radio broadcasts. Also featured and/or quoted in USAToday, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, The Washington Business Journal, Wired, Interactive Week, Scientific American, the books "The Domain Name Handbook," and "Internet Secrets."

1988 to 1995 InterCon Systems Corporation
Vice President and Chief Counsel

Instrumental in negotiation and implementation of InterCon's successful merger with PSINet.  Directly supervised the legal department, plotted business strategy with upper management, and assisted Sales and Marketing with strategic partnerships and product placements. These placements included technology licensing contracts with PSINet, America Online, and Apple Computer. Drafted and revised all contracts.  Negotiated and implemented major OEM and VAR contracts, analyzed strategic partnerships and major corporate sales from a standpoint of business profitability and identified and scrutinized all surrounding legal issues

Drafted Internet usage policies, encryption, domain name policy issues, prosecuted trademark applications, oppositions and appeals, prepared and filed copyright applications, policed company’s Intellectual Property, negotiated and implemented software licensing and contract issues. 

Drafted employee policies and procedures including drug policies and sexual harassment policies.  Investigated charges of harassment and unfair treatment.  Examined and gave counsel on possible criminal matters from time to time. Recommended resolutions of all claims.

Edited and approved all technical documentation, marketing materials and advertising copy.  Supervised corporate collections, keeping the loss rate under 2%.

InterCon Systems Corporation
Vice President of Engineering - Herndon, Virginia

Responsible for InterCon's entire software line.  Directly supervised the Engineering and Technical Support departments and managed the Quality Assurance team.  Edited and approved all technical documentation. Implemented Product Teams and assigned Sales and Marketing to collect customer data to help in the design process.  Coordinated release schedules based on feasibility and true customer need, strategic direction, and engineering schedules and realities.

Position included editing and approval of all technical documentation, deployment of Product Teams and collection of customer data to direct the design process, creating release schedules based on the feasibility and true customer needs and strategic direction, along with engineering schedules and realities.

Introduced the first commercial World Wide Web browser and the first NFS products for the Macintosh.  Expanded the product line with network management products, mail gateways, and printing utilities.
